Your digital camera will come with several settings that control the size and quality of the photos you take. There are many free one's available on the net and these tips will be using Picasa. One of the most frustrating things when working with images is not having them organised in a logical methodical order on their computers. The number of users I come across with photos spread from one end of their computer to another is amazing. For simplicity's sake store all you photos in seperate folders within "My Pictures"

Your computer can die at any moment - FOREVER - and you could lose years of precious memories. Your computer is basically worth nothing, it's the information stored on it that's of the greatest value. External hard drives are cheap as chips now so there is no excuse not to have one as a safeguard in case your PC goes kaput!
